Abai Jungle Lodge was built in 2005 to avoid the overcrowding problem in Sukau, Kinabatangan. It is located in the Secondary Forest Reserved. In order to preserve mother nature, all the walkways are made from hard wood which is known as “Belian”.
The Sepilok Orang-Utan Rehabilitation Centre is situated inside a 40 sq km reserve and is a permanent sanctuary for the orang-utan (literally ‘wild man of the jungle’) that have been orphaned, injured or confiscated. There is a feeding platform for visitors to observe these beautiful primates and two daily feedings before they wander back into the forest.

Lang’s Cave/Deer Cave – is reached by following a 3 km plank walk which passes through peat swamp, alluvial flats and limestone outcrops. There is much to see on the way to the cave, including some superb rainforest, jungle streams and an ancient Penan burial cave. When you reach the cave entrance you are left in no doubt that you are about to enter the largest cave passage in the world.
